I uninstalled this because I got tired of waiting for everything.
I have this (CA Anti-Virus 2007) on an XP-Pro Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz w/ 1 GB RAM machine.
I got tired of the long delays for apps and the internet to launch.
I’ve been using CA products since 2002 or 2003. I recently tried 2 of their newest iterations – already SURE that I would keep THIS one.
ezTrust won my loyalty with FLAWLESS operation of my machine. I appreciate it quietly working, protecting my computer…without a whole lot of pinging or popup notices (like Norton).
Yes, I’ve tested McAfee, Norton, PC Cillin, Panda – to name a few. I keep coming back to ezTrust Armor. This is ONE company has gotten AV software right.
ezTrust Automatic updates CONTINUOUSLY – so when something new is developed, you get it. When I run THIS software even on cabled networks and hotel networks, well, I feel secure that CA is doing what I’ve paid them to do – to keep my computer virus free.
I also like the updates for detecting potential NEW threats using their new engines.
I’ve had CA on several of my computers for YEARS. To keep me working smoothly, I continue CA on my computers.
This software has several ADDITIONAL features that I do not use…and is customizable – so you can turn off protection you don’t want – Anti-Spam, Personal Firewall and/or Anti-Spyware. I tend to run another firewall and know how to protect against spyware. I also run an optimization program to catche what the anti-spyware programs don’t.
ezTrust Antivirus looks for viruses in email, downloads, webpages and graphics.
Here’s a PLUS – I was able to put this on a computer OVER Norton – then scan my system making sure everything was copacetic, deactivate Norton’s for a few days before removing it from my computer without a problem. MANY other AV makers REQUIRE you remove another product FIRST before you put yours on.
And EVEN if it seems like there is nothing that other program has failed to kill apparent, the act of getting rid of it can load something it quietly sequestered/suppressed that you did not see…
I should know…this happened to me about 18 months ago when I was testing PC Cillin over Norton. It cost me several years of data (due to a computer doctor mishap)…a lesson I will always remember.
Thanks, Computer Associates, for developing such a fine product. I just added the 2007 version to one of my rebuilt computers and it is running beautifully.

CA Will Spam You to Death!
I bought CA Antivirus 2007 because of CA’s good reputation and because the program doesn’t hog resources.
I bought this product because I had read good reviews on it and I thought it would do the job. I have always had McAfee on every computer I have owned with no problems, but I wanted to try and save some money, so I switched. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I installed it and the very next day I got a virus. After working with my computer techs for 3 days, we finally had to wipe my hard drive clean and re-install XP. I lost a lot of info in the process.
I called the techs at CA Antivirus and they said they couldn’t help me. They were very unprofessional and very hard to deal with. My best advice – DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

Love, love, LOVE this product!
I’m not ashamed to admit I picked CA Antivirus up the first time (about 2 years ago) because it was roughly half the price of Norton and McAfee. Am sure glad I did.
Bought this anti virus software package after reading the horror stories about Norton Anti Virus 2007. Been a Norton user for 11 years up till now. Got tired of the problems with the automatic virus definition updates that never automatically updated on my Dell Computer with XP.
Loaded CA Antivirus with ease, no glitches. The program updates itself, scans the computer without argument. It runs the way I would expect a software program to run… smoothly!

Works Great in XP, Not so great in Vista
I purchased the CA EZ Trust antivirus software because McAfee’s antivirus software suite brought my XP operating system to its knees. It barely ran.

A quiet guardian
CA is always there, and I feel confident it is doing its job. It tells me very discreetly that it is on duty. Best anti-virus software I have ever had.

Customer Service??
This product might be good. I don’t know, because it won’t install properly on my pc. Their website has a vague FAQ page for support, and if that doesn’t help, you have to fork…

Burn Baby Burn – Buyer beware
Like a disco inferno this software has nearly burned my processors up. It has a component called ITMRTSVC.exe that is causing my systems to run very hot.
