Won’t let me connect to the internet!!!
After uninstalling Norton Antivirus (duh), I installed McAfee VirusScan Plus. This program won’t allow any programs on my laptop to connect to the internet, including itself!

Does What You Expect, Not Much More
McAfee VirusScan Plus 2008 is pretty much your typical virus protection as you surf the web. I’m sure it’s better than their previous version–I just don’t know how.

I found it to be one of the best anti-viruses in less price….it keeps my computer safe while I am surfing the net, when I am on network and prompts me wherever it feels the app…

I bought the McAfee VirusScan 2008 one month ago,strong anti-virus program ,a little heavy on PC during the opening of some programs ,generally strong program & recommend .

Just what you want in a virus program
Virus protection is a necessary evil in today’s computers. So is spyware protection and firewall. This handles all of them.

The installation process is not straightforward because it doesn’t allow you to pick and choose which components you want to install because it comes with multiple features…

I received my customer response message a full 45 minutes before I received a online chat representative.

I contacted McAfee because when I installed their product the McAfee Virus Scan Plus 2008 that I ordered from Amazon a couple weeks before told me that the product had expired. When I contacted McAfee their website said the wait would be 2 min.

The technician I finally was able to chat with told me that the CD does not remove the old version of McAfee. I have to wonder why? Has this never come up before? Can it be that McAfee has so few repeat customers that they would not make their product so that the old version did not interfere with the new version, or baring that they new installer first removes the old version before installing the new version?

This is the way we needed to install products in the 80s. This is not the way that mature well designed products and installer operate.

They only technical support options are online, with the exception of rather expensive pay phone support.

It is my opinion that you might want to give this product a miss and try Norton, CA, shareware or anything else if you think there is even the slightest chance you would like any kind of support

PS I would not give McAfee one star but the system make you give at least one

Does What It’s Supposed To
I’ve never really been impressed by Virus Scanning software, and I guess I can say that still holds true.
